Eric Neuhaus is a talent and development executive specializing in identifying and developing new television unscripted show ideas and on-air talent. He has held key development positions working at several of the most prominent media companies in the country and delivered highly rated award winning concepts for properties across all media (print, television, on-line).

In Eric's most recent role as Director of Talent Development at truTV (formerly Court TV), he has identified talent and ideas to expand the reach of the network to a younger and more targeted demographic. His first hit show with the network, Beach Patrol, is now in its fourth season and has helped the network broaden its programming objectives. The Real Hustle, which Eric identified from a British format and developed and recast with American hosts, will support the re-brand of the network as truTV in early 2008.

Upon starting at truTV, Eric created and launched the talent department by utilizing his strong relationships with talent agents, talent managers, publishers, public relations executives, and literary agents. For the series Murder By The Book, now in it’s second hit season, Eric identified and signed 15 bestselling authors to each host an episode of the series.

Before this, Eric served as Casting Director at Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia for a new homemaker reality show. He oversaw casting and test auditions for more than 100 potential hosts while developing, planning and executing the show concept with senior level executives.

Eric began his career at ABC News 20/20 having worked at all levels of production and development. Starting as an intern he was quickly promoted to story editor, where he conceived and oversaw more than 30 magazine segments from pitch to broadcast. Eric booked celebrities and high profile newsmakers for interviews with Barbara Walters, Diane Sawyer, Connie Chung and John Stossel. Numerous segments Eric developed were nominated and selected for top level awards including Emmy, Peabody, Alfred I. DuPont, and GLAAD.

In addition, Eric is also the author of three non fiction books. His first book The World’s Fittest You sold for six figures after a heated auction and received a “highly recommended” review from the Library Journal. His other books include Iron Yoga written with a top ranking ironman competitor and Bullet Proof Book Proposals, a reference guide for aspiring writers.

Eric received his BA in Sociology from Wesleyan University in Middletown, CT and his MA in American Studies from New York University. He lives and works in New York City.
